City governments rarely become early adopters of technologies because they cannot afford financial risks related to venture enterprises. It restricts cities to outdated, well-tested techniques.
From the other side, young and creative entrepreneurs willing to address city development issues lacked technical and social skills which are necessary to cooperate with municipal bodies and participate in public procurement.
Inspired by examples of San Francisco and Amsterdam Startup-In-Residence programs, Startup Odessa and Odessa City Council are launching first Ukrainian accelerator for city projects — Betamisto. Its program will last three months starting January 15, 2019, and will cover both issues related to product management and public procurement.
The application form is available online on https://betamisto.com.
